Paint It — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026

The short version, for parents

Paint It is a gentle, colourful painting game designed for children and families. We built it to be a calm, ad-free, purchase-free space, and we designed it so that it does not need — and does not collect — any personal data. This policy explains that in plain language.

Who we are

Paint It is a product of Alervall Management AB, a company registered in Sweden. If you have any questions about this policy or the game, you can reach us at hello@playpaintit.com.

What we collect

From the game: nothing. The Paint It game — in the app and in the free web version at /play/ — does not collect, store on our servers, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Specifically, the game does not collect:

There are no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking tools of any kind embedded in the game. Everything below applies only to our website pages — never to the game your child plays.

The launch-notification email list

On our home page an adult can choose to enter an email address to be told when Paint It reaches the App Store and Google Play. This is the only personal data we ever hold, and only if you type it in yourself.

This form is for parents, teachers and other adults. It is not directed at children, and children should not enter an email address here. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will delete the address immediately.

Counting visits to this website

So we can tell roughly how many people find the site, our website pages (this page and the home page) use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is privacy-first and deliberately minimal: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint you, does not follow you across other websites, and does not build a profile of anyone. It reports only aggregate figures such as how many page views a page received, roughly which country visitors came from, and which site linked to us.

It is not present in the game. We deliberately did not put it on /play/, so nothing at all runs while a child is playing.

Saving your worlds

When your child paints a world, the game saves that progress locally on your own device (using your browser or device’s local storage). This data never leaves the device — it is not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. If you delete the app, or clear your browser’s data for the site, those saved worlds are removed from your device.

No accounts, no purchases

Paint It has no login, no user accounts, and no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Your child cannot spend money and cannot be contacted by anyone through the game.

Children’s privacy

Paint It is intended for children and the families who play with them. Because the game collects no personal information at all, it is designed to align with children’s privacy laws including the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, including its provisions for children (GDPR-K). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The game collects nothing at all; the only place any personal data can be entered is the launch-notification email form on our home page, which is directed at adults. If we learn that a child has submitted an email address, we delete it.

The free web version and hosting

You can also play Paint It for free in a web browser at playpaintit.com/play/. The web version of the game behaves exactly like the app — no analytics, no cookies for tracking, no accounts, and progress saved only on your device. Like any website, the pages are delivered by a hosting provider (Cloudflare), which may keep standard technical server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliable delivery. We do not use this information to identify or track individual players, and we add no advertising and no analytics to the game itself.

Contacting us

If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply to you. We never add you to the launch list from an email you send us — that only happens if you fill in the form yourself — and we never share your details. If we later add a parent contact form or discussion area to the website, it will have its own clear notice about anything it needs.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the game works in a way that affects privacy, we’ll update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Since the game is built around collecting nothing, we don’t expect major changes.
